Bio

Teng Zhang, also known as Johnny Z., is a multimedia designer with a focus on video production and effects. As a photographer and videographer, he leverages software to enhance the world around him.

 

He earned his Bachelor's degree in Design, specializing in Digital Media, from RMIT University in Australia.

 

His professional experience includes internships as a visual designer at Shuangliu District Fusion Media Centre in Chengdu and as a TV program editor at Chengdu Radio & Television. He also served as the vice director of the publicity department for the RMIT Chinese Student & Scholar Association.

Teng's solo creative design projects are at the crossroads of art and technology. His portfolio includes the virtual production short film RE:ality (2023). The short films Polarization (2023), Escape (2020), Images In The Dust光影迷雾 (2019), FIND寻 (2018). The interactive installation The Other Side of Bodies (2023), and various multimedia projects.

Skilled in Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, Maya, Unreal Engine, and Unity, he has a keen interest in visual arts, particularly video creation and photography.

Teng views media and design as the genesis of creativity and beauty. He is a staunch believer that multimedia design is about devising solutions for the future and addressing current challenges.

Living by the credo "Being a problem solver and a creator of the future," he strives to embody this philosophy throughout his creative endeavours.

Editor Intern
Chengdu Radio & Television

1. responsible for the planning and execution of various community and social activities especially on stage (World Games community promotion stage activities, charity donation promotional stage activities, community art festival...) The on-site stage management and artiste co-ordination, to ensure efficient and high quality event landing.
2. Participate in the production process of the programme ‘Happy Community’, from creative conception to final editing, to enhance the quality and viewability of the programme.
3. Work closely with the team to ensure that all production projects are in line with the brand standards and communication requirements of Chengdu Radio and Television, and deeply involved in a series of 2024 visual guide and brand refresh design work of the department.
4.Responsible for backend data analysis and optimisation, regularly analysing viewers' feedback to optimise the content and format of the programme to enhance its market appeal and audience stickiness.

Visual Designer Intern
Shuangliu District Fusion Media Centre

1. Responsible for the shooting and post-production of video content (grassroots interviews, resumption of production, foreigner interviews, etc.) on the [Shuangliu Publishing] WeChat short video platform account, including videotaping, audio recording, editing, colour grading, sound processing, etc., to ensure the quality of the video as well as its deliverability.
2. Work with Shuangliu District Commission for Discipline Inspection to shoot anti-corruption and cleanliness warning propaganda video series, serve as executive producer, director assistant, field assistant, post assistant duties, to promote the final landing and delivery of the project.
3. Design and realise the visual effects of the video content, and continuously communicate with the team on the visual design specifications that can be landed.
4. Regularly analyse the data of the video number platform, optimise the video content and presentation according to audience feedback and interaction, and improve the efficiency of content dissemination.
5. Participate in the day-to-day management of the visual centre, including the construction of material library, equipment maintenance, and the learning and application of new technologies, to continuously improve the efficiency of work and the ability to achieve creativity.
